In 2004 Margit S. Conopask opened the retail boutique M. Swenson Monogram in the lovely town of Birmingham, Michigan. After five years at Goldman Sachs in New York City, Margit embarked on a new career that combined both her business skills and her artistic creativity.

Upon her arrival in Birmingham, Margit discovered that there was a demand for monogrammed items but there were not any local shops that catered to the specific market. M. Swenson Monogram opened its doors and a loyal group of customers followed. Word spread quickly and the store earned its way onto the local shopping scene. Margit's unique sense of style and her personalized touch brought her customers back each time they had a special gift to find.

To Birmingham's loss, M. Swenson Monogram closed its doors in 2008 when Margit moved back to New York City with her family. She continued to monogram from her home as she strategized how to enter her new market. The demand was apparent as orders continued to pour in from existing Birmingham customers, New York customers, and her friends and family in New England.

Margit now operates her online business full time as well as hosts trunk shows and continues to use her style to find just the right gift for that special occasion.
